Goodwill Industries of San Antonio recently opened Good Bytes Cafe, and ROBOT was thrilled to work on the environmental graphics and menus.
Cyber cafes aren't anything new, but Good Bytes Cafe is the first cyber cafe specifically designed for people with disabilities. In addition to the typical computers and laptops available for rent, Good Bytes houses some of the latest adaptive technologies for public use. The project is great for the community and reflective of a truly forward-thinking organization. It was our pleasure to be a part of it.
The cafe is located in the Goodwill HQ building downtown on Commerce. The location, directly across from Market Square and the new Smithsonian, couldn't be any more ideal. We took advantage of the almost continuous windows that wrap around the building to create environmental graphics that tie in with the building exterior and the existing Goodwill branding.
Byte-like streams of squares mimic the tiles on the building and provide a backdrop to images like coffee cups and computers that quickly entice the passersby to check out what's inside. In addition to the exterior window graphics, we also helped with the menus, signs and other materials inside the cafe.
"Working with ROBOT is truly a joy," says Goodwill Marketing Director, Rebecca Helterbrand. "They are an extension of your vision, brand and approach and have the flexibility and creativity to dream big for your organization. I can’t imagine this project without their incredible influence and ability to turn thought into action."

*Just a note - We wish we could claim credit for the great name, but our clever friends in the Goodwill Marketing Department came up with that and also had the logo developed before we came on board.
